I am deeply shocked at the sudden death of Morshed bhai. My only encounter with him was in Cork, Ireland in 1989 while doing my 2nd mate. He was a very live and entertaining person. May Allah rest his soul in peace and give his family the strength to get over this loss. Please pass our sincerest condolences to the bereaved family.

Assala-Mu-Alaykum. I would like to thank all of the merchant mariners that phoned from all parts of the world and left messages on your web site for their kind words they all helped me and our children so much. Before this happened I never understood how much what people say can help. I just thank Allah for the 26 great years I had with Morshed. He left me with 6 great children and many great merchant navy friends.
Many thanks from Nurullah, Abdullah, Rahmatullah, Naymatullah, Aishah Iman and Charlotte.

We just cannot believe that this could even happen, so early in life. Morshed Bhai was such a dear friend to Lucy and I. A man whose laughter I still can hear, a man with such high dignity, integrity and sincerity. If I could rely on someone for anything, it would undeniably be him. Our deepest condolences to Charlotte, the children and the family.

As my first shore stay in Cork 1994 for my 2nd mate exam, we found him as a little hope in Ireland. He visited our home on top of that hill with his little childrens like a Muslim style and we had a Eid prayer.
May Allah reward him.

A very sad and shocking news indeed. I was in Tarragona, Spain on a audit and survey job from 13-16 may. Had time to look at the e-mails while waiting at London Heathrow for Glasgow connecting flight yesterday afternoon (16th) and became aware of this tragic news.
I re-call Morshed's last Glasgow visit with his family, memory of which is still very much vivid and fresh.
I had a phone call from Zafar this morning and he informed there was a "Doa" mahfil organised in Chittagong praying for "magfirat" and eternal peace for the departed soul.
I suggested to Zafar that at this difficult time it is a good idea to consider sending a joint condolence card to Charlotte from Chittagong. Zafar agreed and requested Charlotte's mail address.Could you please forward same to Zafar and others.
Nipa Bhabi called me this morning after Zafar's call to find out whether I was aware of this sad news.
A very difficult time for the family and us (Morshed's friends and well-wishers). May Allah grant the family strength to bear this tragic and untimely loss.

It is with great sadness, we have to accept another tragedy by losing another of our community member. This is the only reality in life which is guranteed to happen sooner or later, nothing else is guranteed in life. So we must take care of our health while preaching Allah to be prepared to stand before him in the life thereafter. May Allah forgive him (Capt. Murshed) of all sins if any & place him in Jannat foreever & give the strength to his left devasteted family members to cope with the calamity with courage.

Dear All,
I received a call at 11:30 BVI time from Charlotte Morshed saying that Morshed had a massive heart attack and passed away. I could not beleive. Innallahey.....Razeun. I had no words to tell her..... I was shocked. I spoke with Morshed on 13 May over an hour. He said in the recent past he had a chest pain and was trapped air not any danger.
He sounded very cheerful and was waiting to go back to sea. He was intending to go for a month and not long voyages away from home. He invited me to visit him in Cork. I along with my family visited him in Cork three yeras ago. I will miss him.. He was a good person. May Allah give strenth to his family members to face this family tragedy and carry on. His eldest son Nurullah is in the University.
It is realy really really sad that he is gone.
May Allah bless his departed sole.

Friends,
I'm shocked. Every January and June I look forward to receiving Morshed Bhai's call. Because that's when he used to come home and then one fine day he used to give us call. He used to visit us with his children and I used to visit him with my family. Last year he set up his home in Uttara and we visited him there.
He was arranging that as a permanent abode for his family to live in whenever he'd come home. So I was looking forward again that some time in this summer I'd receive his call and go and visit him there. Alas! there'll be no call from him anymore! He used to enjoy our correspondence on the net. He won't be any more!
O! Allah! Give him the permanent abode in Jannah hereafter. He was a perfect Mu'min Musalman, Allah.
I give witness. O! Allah! Give his family the strength to bear the burden of the bereavement and the taufic to stay on Your straight path that Morshed Bhai has set his family on. Ameen!
Friends, may we all say Ameen!
