".........I am deeply saddened to hear about the untimely departure of Maksud Sultan. I remember him very well from my time as DGM (SPD) in BSC when I had the opportunity of knowing him. He was a very straight forward person and thorough gentleman. I pray for the departed soul..........."
Capt. Khairul Anam (9th)  05 Feb 2006

"......Maksud Sultan was our favorite "Khosru kaku"...who always knew how to make us laugh and entertain us with his perky comments about everything -- starting from the government to TV personalities. We were all trying to recover from our loss of losing Kamrun kaku (Maksud's older brother)a few years ago -- when news of Khosru kaku's death came unexpectedly. It caught us all off-guard and we all mourned...from thousands of miles away. Anyone who came across Khosru kaku knew that he was witty, had an innate sense of humor, and was just an overall creative person. He would tell us stories of his sails overseas and would make up stuff along the way -- confusing us with what was fact and what wasn't. His laid-back demeanor, his accent and his uncompromising affection for his "bhaijees" will always have a very special part in our hearts. Years may go by, but his memory will never fade from our collective memories. Khosru kaku was blessed to have Nasreen chachi in his life. May God take good care of chachi and his wife, each and every single day............Kaku, we love you very much and we miss you terribly..................."

"............I was tremendously shocked to learn that Maksud Sultan (Khasru) has left us forever. Often, close friends do not really have occasion to reflect on what their relationship has meant until a separation occurs which I can feel very much in his absence. Apart from being my batch mate he was one of my closest friends with whom I sailed for a long time in two ships, been to abroad together for professional courses. For last over two years we became more close, seeing each other very frequently either at IIMT or in his construction site which were very near at Panthapath. He used to be ever cheerful, humorous and I have lot fond memories of his witty humour. We all pray to Allah for the salvation of his departed soul and may Allah give enough patience to the bereaved family to bear the loss with fortitude............"

".......The very sad loss of Capt. Sultan must be a huge blow. I send my deepest sympathy to his family & hold him in my thought. Capt. Sultan will always be remembered by me as a generous/gentleman mariner. He was always willing to help out & generous in his support to me & everybody while I worked with him as 4th officer & he was my mate on one of the BSC ships. He was always good company & highly respected by all of the people he came into contact with during the course of his work. I will miss him & indeed feel privileged to have worked with him at one stage. May Allah bless him............"
