"..........I never got him on board but heard from some of our batchmates
around 1991 those who got him as a Chief Officer on board BSC. I feel shocked
and praying for his peace as well as from my batchmate side I knew him around
14 years before...."

"........ It was a great shock to know that Salahuddin bhai is no more within
us. He was not only my senior from academy but also he was from my cadet
college, so in that way I had a long ties with him & Alamgir bhai though I
hadn't any chance to sail with Salahudiin bhai. Its extremely pathetic that we
lost both of them in a matter of years. I think its time for all of us to wake
up to health awareness specially regular checking up & quit smoking as heart
diseases are increasingly snatching the lives of our loved ones now a days. I
have no word to comfort their families, may Allah be with them to cope with
the situation & bless the departed ones with Zannat...."

".............When I opened the web to read some good news today , instead I
was terribly shocked to hear the sad demise of Salehuddin - both brothers were
with me on Banglar Gourab (I was Captain) and it was a pleasure to have them
both together. It is so sad to think that both of them are not with us
today- my heart goes out to Saleheddin's family- I am speechless and no words
can comfort them - however my deepest condolences to the family and may the
soul of Salehuddin rest in Peace. I wonder what is happening to our younger
colleagues - please take care our young colleagues - it is sad that we have to
part with our young ones so soon when many of them have not accomplished so
many things in life. God bless!! I am sad !!!...... "

Salehuddin my batch mate, another of our loved ones has gone forever for a
cause of health negligence. Regular medical check up could probably reveal the
danger of a possible heart disease. He was very humorous and jolly person. May
Allah award him the heaven. May his soul rest in peace. May ALLAH give
strength to his family members to recover such a great loss.

"...as you know his father has been killed during the liberation war and ever
since his mother has been struggling to get her sons to a stage of
establishment. She had done a very good job and all the sons were well
established. it was actually the time for her to relax a little. And then
Alamgir died of heart attack some where in 2001. Few years passed. His brother
in law ( Sister's husband ) died of cancer recently. Younger brother had a
severe heart attack recently and had under gone open heart surgery in Dhaka
and still under post operative treatment. During this time his present
employer PIL has been calling him almost every other day asking him to join
ship. He sent his COC for renewal and that also got lost on the way. Later it
was tracked after a long pursuit and actually arrived just the day before his
death. With all above going on he was not in a very good state of mind during
last three months of his leave. He had some pressure and was on medication but
no indication what so ever of any stroke / high pressure or anything else. And
then all on a sudden that day at about 0500 hrs he started feeling bad. Doctor
gave him some medicine and they planned to see the cardiologist after 0800
hrs. Around 0730 hours his pressure went up followed by massive heart attack
and probably died instantly. He was taken to hospital immediately and was
declared dead. His mother wished him to be buried at his village home and was
done accordingly. His wife is teaching in an English medium school CYDER.
Elder son has appeared O level (part) and the daughter is studying in the same
school at class seven. The family has just come back from Noakhali......."

Its like a double blow in consecutive days! After Mazumdar Bhai its Salehuddin.
Alamgir and Salehuddin were two brothers equally popular in the mariners
community for their lovely and happy personalities. Whoever knew one could not
forget another. Now both of them have left us forever. Its such a painful
feeling that its becoming very hard and difficult to bear. I feel so upset
when I think that I can be around to share the sorrows of family, relatives
and friends. This is a price that we have to pay for living overseas. But our
thoughts are with them. We beg to Allah for emancipation of their souls and
pray that their family have the
courage to come to grips to the loss they have suffered. Amin...
