Going to Singapore for
obtaining Certificates:
1. Get a course booking from Singapore Polytechnic.
2. Obtain the booking letter and the receipt from Polytechnic.
3. Buy a one year valid return air ticket to Singapore.
3. Presently Thai Airways is the cheapest.
5. Make photocopies of the tickets, Booking letter and the receipt of Polytechnic.
6. Obtain visa application form from Singapore Embassy in Gulshan 2 within 0900-1200Hrs.
7. Submit the application form with photocopies of all required documents.
8. Dollar endorsement in the passport is not necessary for the Visa.
9. Carry all the original papers with you. Embassy may want to see.
10.You are supposed to get the visa on the next day.
Recognition of Courses:
1. MPA will recognise all the short courses of Marine Academy only if those were issued under STCW 95.
2. Advance fire fighting is Singapore Dollar $185, PSCR is $430 and First Aid is free.
3. If you have proper certificates, you don't have to attend the classes for the courses.
Medical Fitness Certificate:
1. MPA will not recognise the fitness certificate by Chittagong Port Health.
2. You have to undergo medical examination here for Singapore $60.
Bachelor of Marine Science Certificate:
The BMS Degree is not known to MPA. So contact with the National University about this. There is a big possibility that MPA will ask for that for all academy cadets.
